I'm Kevin Briody — a three-time Chief Marketing Officer and former agency-side Chief Strategy Officer with 25+ years of marketing experience spanning B2B, B2C, and B2G, in organizations ranging from venture-funded startups to marketing agencies, non-profits, PE-backed SaaS, and big tech.
I've led transformations or ground-up builds of multiple marketing functions, including build-outs of functional capabilities including product marketing, growth teams, content, operations, and analytics. More recently, my focus has been on how AI is reshaping the way marketing leaders design, lead, and optimize their organizations.
DisruptedCMO is where I explore the intersection of marketing leadership, organizational design, and the disruptive forces (including AI) reshaping our profession. It's built around a core conviction: the best marketing leaders don't resist disruption — they build organizations designed to harness it and transform it into competitive advantage.
My educational background includes a BS in History from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!), an MBA in Technology Management from the University of Washington, and am currently a part-time Doctor of Education student at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where my research is focused on how leaders develop disruption-fluent organizations.
